Role: Lead Java Developer

Location: Hybrid, Lisbon, Portugal

Required skills:

• 
  Take full technical ownership of the project as Lead Developer
• 
  Ensure end-to-end lifecycle management, from design to delivery and maintenance
• 
  Work closely with Product Owner on planning, priorities, and timelines
• 
  Collaborate with Solution Architect to align technical decisions with architecture and security standards
• 
  Ensure delivery of features within agreed timelines, proactively managing risks
• 
  Maintain high quality standards (clean code, code reviews, testing practices)
• 
  Manage and keep the product backlog updated and refined
• 
  Ensure proper documentation (architecture, runbooks, onboarding) is maintained and up to date
• 
  Drive continuous improvement across development processes and team practices
• 
  +7 years of experience with Java (Java 8 or above)
• 
  Strong experience with Spring / Spring Boot
• 
  Experience developing and consuming REST APIs
• 
  Experience in systems integration and distributed environments
• 
  Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases
• 
  Knowledge of application security
• 
  Experience with best practices (clean code, code review, unit and integration testing)
• 
  Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum / Kanban)

Nice to have:

• 
  Experience with event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka)
• 
  Experience with Cloud environments (AWS, Azure or similar)
• 
  Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Docker
• 
  Knowledge of frontend technologies (e.g., React)
• 
  Experience in high-scale or high-availability systems
• 
  Experience in security, fraud detection, or risk-related systems
• 
  Fluent English (minimum B2)
