A large organisation in Norway is modernising its core digital platforms that support nationwide services. The focus is on building new, business-critical backend solutions at scale, rather than maintaining legacy systems. This role is well suited to a Java developer who enjoys hands-on development and working on impactful systems.
You will work hands-on with Java development, building and improving backend services for new digital products and internal platforms. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers and product teams, with a strong focus on clean code, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
Must haves:
Solid experience as a Java backend developer
Experience building APIs and backend services used in production
Good understanding of modern backend architecture and service-based systems
Comfortable working with databases and system integrations
Fluent Norwegian, written and spoken
Nice to haves:
Experience with Spring or similar Java frameworks
Exposure to cloud platforms and modern deployment practices
Experience working in large or complex organisations
Interest in system design, performance, and scalability
Enjoys collaborating closely with product and business teams
