About the role:
Our IoT Platform Services team powers Electrolux's connected ecosystem, and the IoT Core team is at the heart of this platform. We maintain robust legacy platforms while building next-generation cloud solutions, ensuring seamless and secure connectivity for millions of IoT devices. Our work enables reliable device management, secure data communication, and storage across Electrolux’s IoT platform.
We are looking for a Java Backend Developer based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, to work closely with our IoT Core team in Stockholm, Sweden, supporting a multi-million-device ecosystem and helping deliver the best connected experience to customers worldwide.
What you’ll do:
In this role, you will:
Develop and maintain scalable and secure cloud services for Electrolux's IoT ecosystem.
Contribute to backend solutions supporting large-scale device connectivity.
Optimize cloud infrastructure for reliability and cost efficiency.
Support automation of deployments and testing in CI/CD pipelines.
Assist in integrating services with other backend systems.
Follow best practices in data management and cloud operations.
Who you are:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
2–3+ years of experience in backend development, ideally with exposure to cloud-based applications.
Strong programming skills in Java and Spring Boot.
Solid understanding of microservices architecture and familiarity with cloud deployment.
Familiar with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
Exposure to messaging systems (e.g., Kafka) and databases (SQL & NoSQL).
A collaborative problem-solver who enjoys working in an agile, international environment.
Experience or interest in IoT platforms or secure device communication is a plus.
Fluent in English.
Where you’ll be:
This is a full-time position based at our Petaling Jaya office in Malaysia.
You will be working closely with our team in Stockholm, Sweden, collaborating daily on building and supporting our IoT platform.
