Job Description

The S&OP Leader is responsible for the S&OE and S&OP process for Japan.
This key leadership position among the Japan OTR team is ensuring an effective link between Global Segments and the Japan Commercial and Modality teams and is a key enabler to drive on-time delivery and logistics & inventory cost reduction across the region.
In this capacity, the S&OP Leader will be responsible for all aspects of S&OP and S&OE execution in Japan and conduct healthy planning, fulfilment execution and improve forecast accuracy which will be key enabler to drive on-time delivery and logistics & inventory cost reduction across the region.

Key responsibilities/essential functions include:

  • Lead a team of Segment S&OP and fulfillment Leaders.
  • Own and manage directly one Segment S&OP and fulfillment Leader activity as necessary
  • Drives lean planning processes, improved forecast accuracy and inventory turns to deliver outstanding customer experience in Japan.
  • Develop high performing S&OP and Fulfillment teams including measurement of performance against organizational objectives for quality, responsiveness, and compliance.
  • Institute and manage S&OE and S&OP related processes and operating mechanisms with Zone OTR, Zone Commercial operations, Zone leadership and Regional and Global Segment Managers,
  • Ensure communication with customer (Internal or External), commercial and functional teams regarding equipment delivery timing and details
  • Building & strengthening communication & collaboration with Supply Chain and Zone Teams driving a highly collaborative culture, which encourages effective partnership
  • Functions as subject matter expert on S&OP and fulfillment practices and procedures in the Zone
  • Drive continuous improvement on all related processes, documents and tools, to ensure ongoing standardization and simplification of planning practices
  • Provide executive leadership with performance updates to shape business priorities and actions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree and 10 years of operations management and / or planning experience
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written)
  • Capability to understand and analyze complex situations utilizing data analysis and systems thinking
  • Demonstrated People leadership: mobilize teams to achieve goals, mentor and coach individuals to develop talents, motivate and inspire others through inclusive leadership foster collaboration and encourage initiatives and can-do attitude
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Experience on statistical and/or data management tools
  • Demonstration of rigor and strong execution in an operational environment
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and lead sustainable process changes, and adapt to business and functional changes
  • Change agent with energy, passion & enthusiasm
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully collaborate globally, overcoming geographic and cultural boundaries to forge successful working relationships leading to improved business outcomes
  • Welcomes & overcomes challenges with a pragmatic mindset
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Familiar with Lean, Six Sigma quality concepts and tools
  • Fluency in both Japanese and English language

  • Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position.
  • Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
  • Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
