
Who we are looking for
As a Relationship Manager within the State Street Investment Management (Japan) Intermediary team, your role is to achieve sales targets by ensuring our clients and prospects receive the most relevant investment solutions to meet their objectives. You will manage a defined book of client relationships and be well-versed in the firm’s culture, investment philosophy, product capabilities and operational offering, enabling you to communicate these effectively in the marketplace. You will also build strong relationships across sales, operations, legal, compliance and other internal teams.

The team you will be joining is part of State Street Investment Management, a global asset manager providing services to governments, institutions and financial intermediaries worldwide. This role supports the continued growth of the Japan intermediary business, contributing to distribution of ETFs,mutualfunds(ITMs)and model portfolios, while strengthening client engagement and local market presence.
What you will be responsible for
Develop and execute strategies to drive sales of ETFs,mutualfunds(ITMs)and model portfolios across intermediary client segments in Japan.
Build and maintain a defined book of business with allocated clients.
Identify and anticipate client requirements, expectations and needs.
Actively promote and distribute investment products to Japan financial institutions and intermediary clients.
Maintain and strengthen existing relationships to ensure retention and growth of business through high quality engagement.
Execute sales campaigns and involve clients in key initiatives (events, seminars, surveys).
Maintain accurate activity tracking and pipeline management in Salesforce.
Collaborate with product teams to provide input into product development and enhancements.
Partner closely with marketing to design and implement sales strategies.
Remain abreast of industry and competitive trends in the Japan market.
Ensure adherence to risk, compliance and regulatory requirements.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
3–5 years’ experience in asset management or financial services distribution.
Experience covering intermediary clients and investment products including ETFs.
Demonstrated ability to execute strategic sales plans and deliver outcomes.
Strong analytical capability and ability to interpret client and market data.
Degree qualified in finance, economics or related discipline preferred.
Proficiency in Japanese and English with strong understanding of Japanese business culture.
JSDA Type 1 licence preferred (or to be obtained).
