About the team

Wholesale Banking supports international corporate clients in achieving their strategic growth ambitions across Europe and beyond. Within this environment, the Japan Desk plays a key role in building and strengthening relationships with Asian investors and corporates operating or expanding in Central and Eastern Europe.

As Japan Desk Head, you will lead ING’s engagement with Japanese corporate clients across the region, working closely with product specialists, sector bankers and international stakeholders. This is a highly visible role, providing exposure to senior decision-makers, cross-border transactions and strategic growth initiatives.

Your responsibilities

  • develop and execute ING’s strategy for Japanese corporate clients operating or investing in Central and Eastern Europe
  • build and expand senior-level relationships with Japanese corporates across Poland and the broader CEE region
  • identify new business opportunities and support clients throughout their investment and growth journeys
  • act as a trusted advisor by connecting clients with ING’s international network and product expertise
  • cooperate closely with colleagues across Sectors, Lending, Transaction Services, Financial Markets and other product teams
  • drive commercial growth while maintaining a strong focus on risk management, compliance and sustainable business development
  • represent ING within the Asian business community and strengthen the bank’s position among Asian investors in the region
  • collaborate with stakeholders across multiple countries, cultures and business environments

Our requirements

  • university degree, preferably in Economics, Finance, Business or a related field
  • at least 5 years of experience in corporate banking or international business development
  • proven track record of managing client relationships and originating new business opportunities
  • strong commercial mindset and ability to execute growth strategies
  • deep understanding of corporate banking products and financial markets
  • experience working with multinational and international corporate clients
  • knowledge of regulatory requirements and risk management principles
  • fluency in English
  • Japanese language skills will be a strong advantage
  • ability to work effectively across cultures and international teams
