STATUSFull Time/ Temporary

QUALFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of Background Check with satisfactory result
  • Possess basic computer, customer service and phone skills
  • Be knowledgeable of and able to work with light janitorial and maintenance items
  • Ability to work well with a diverse population including staff, program participants and clients
  • Must have a valid AZ Driver’s License with a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass The Salvation Army Fleet Safety e-learning
  • Must pass a criminal background check

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Janitorial

  • Maintain, sanitize and clean all bathrooms daily
  • Maintain, sanitize and clean all table tops and flooring in all classrooms as necessary after programs
  • Sanitize and clean all flooring in the Dining/Fellowship hall after programs
  • Sweep all carpeted areas in offices, classrooms and chapel as needed after all programs
  • Insure that all trash is taken out of the building and placed in appropriate trash bins on a regular basis
  • Maintain, sanitize and clean break room as needed
  • Pick up trash and debris from exterior of the building daily and/or as needed
  • Coordinate supply needs for janitorial supplies.
  • Be aware Corps calendar for programming set-up

Maintenance

  • Manage incoming vendors when necessary to perform maintenance functions
  • Make repair calls to vendors as necessary with Corps Officer approval
  • Change any and all light bulbs as necessary
  • Apply touch up paint as necessary throughout the building
  • Assist staff with maintenance of offices as needed
  • Make small repairs as necessary to building, offices, equipment and/or furnishings as necessary
  • Coordinate supply needs for maintenance supplies.

Driving

  • Assist Food Outreach Coordinators with Food Bank pick ups
  • Assume driving responsibility for programs, Christmas and other needs as requested.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms on a continuous basis. Must be able to walk a 5-acre campus on a 12% grade. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus. The employee must have the ability to operate a telephone, desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
