Job Description

Sunday through Thursday 11a-7:30p – includes 1-2 holidays per year.

Qualifications

To work as a Janitor/Custodian, you need to have a strong interest in cleaning and maintaining the facilities. Reliability and consistency in cleaning is essential to excelling in the position.

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver’s License, good driving record and Auto Insurance
  • 18 years or older
  • Pass criminal background, drug screen and physical
  • 1-6 months related experience or training
  • Must be able to work independently and swiftly
  • Able to lift 50 pounds, bend, squat, pull, push and use cleaning equipment and cleaning supplies
  • Good attendance record required
  • Provide Janitorial and Housekeeping services to our facilities and care homes while maintaining upkeep and stocking supplies.
  • Mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, trash pick-up
  • Sanitizing, window washing and wiping down desks, tables and chairs
  • Bathroom cleaning and sanitation
  • Supply restocking, maintain supply cart
  • General housekeeping and picking up
  • Disinfecting surfaces
  • Cleaning projects as assigned

Sunshine Communities, founded in 1950, provides services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
