SF Headlands and Muir Woods – Social Enterprise Janitor Opportunity at Toolworks

Toolworks, a reputable human service agency dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities, is currently seeking a committed Social Enterprise Janitor to join our team. This position will help keep public restroom and shower facilities clean, safe, and welcoming for all visitors in the SF Headlands and Muir Woods.

Wages: $20.93 - $25.93 per hour, depending on experience.
Employment Type: Non-exempt, Hourly, Part-time
Schedule: Monday through Sunday: Opening, Servicing and Closing Shifts are scheduled within assigned operating hours.
Work Location: This is an in-person role in SF Headlands - Muir Woods.

The Social Enterprise (SE) Janitor is responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, stocking, and maintaining assigned public restroom and related facilities at SF Headlands and Muir Woods locations. This position helps ensure facilities are clean, safe, orderly, and ready for visitor use. The role requires reliability, attention to detail, safe use of cleaning products and equipment, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

What You'll Do

  • Clean & Sanitize Thoroughly clean and disinfect restrooms, showers, toilets, sinks, floors, and other high-touch areas.
  • Restock Supplies Ensure restrooms are always stocked with toilet paper, soap, and other necessary supplies.
  • Maintenance Checks Report maintenance issues such as leaks, broken fixtures, or safety hazards.
  • Safety & Accessibility Make sure all public areas are safe, accessible, and ready for daily visitors.
  • Team Communication Work collaboratively with your supervisor and teammates to address issues quickly and efficiently.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong attention to detail and pride in creating clean spaces.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
  • Experience in janitorial or related work is a plus, but not required.

Work Environment and Physical Expectations

  • Primarily outdoors and inside public restroom and related facilities in park, visitor, and recreational settings.
  • Work may be performed in busy public areas with frequent contact with members of the public.
  • Travel between multiple assigned facilities during the workday.
  • Regular exposure to changing outdoor weather conditions, including sun, wind, heat, cold, dampness, and humidity.
  • Work may be performed on uneven terrain, paved walkways, service paths, or other natural or developed public access areas.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift.
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, twist, push, and pull.
  • Ability to use hands repetitively for grasping, wiping, scrubbing, lifting, and handling tools and supplies.
  • Ability to push or pull cleaning equipment, trash, and supply loads consistent with the duties of the position.
