RegularThe Janitor performs all tasks involved in maintaining a clean work environment; adhering to the Master Sanitation Schedule and practicing safe work habits. The Janitor works in all areas of the plant as needed.

Your role in achieving results:

  • Perform daily cleaning tasks per the Master Sanitation and Deep Cleaning Schedules.

  • Perform work safely and efficiently in all areas of the plant including break rooms, locker rooms, offices, and corridors.
  • Ensure work area and janitorial supplies are properly organized and maintained.
  • Understand and comply with all Quality Assurance policies, immediately reporting any potential food safety issues to management.
  • Complete necessary paperwork to ensure all documentation requirements are met.
  • Assist in executing pest control program and monitoring facility.
  • Complete non-routine cleaning/sanitation tasks as assigned.
  • Assist in the training/mentoring of newly hired janitorial team members.
  • Assist in snow removal and management during winter months
  • Adhere to chemical safety protocols and site PPE requirements.
  • Follow site Lock Out Tag out procedures where necessary.
  • Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Ensure allergens are properly handled to prevent cross contact.
    • Maintain requirements for Identity Preserved Foods, such as Kosher, Halal, and Organic.
    • Adhere to site Food Defense procedures.
    • Adhere to site Food Safety and Quality policies and procedures.
  • Safety Protocol
    • Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
    • Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
    • Support safety policies and programs.

What we are looking for to deliver these results:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • No experience required; in-housing training provided.
  • Janitorial experience preferred.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with colleagues.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, quality and cleanliness in work.
  • Dedication to meet the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers; acts with customers in mind.
  • Decisions administered soundly and consistently with policies and in compliance with appropriate laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate functional and technical knowledge, ability to learn new skills quickly, and achieve a high level of accomplishment.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision, adapt to a changing environment quickly, and think independently.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percentages, decimals).
  • Basic computer operational skills; able to input and retrieve computerized information.
  • Follow written, verbal and/or diagrammatic instructions; solve practical problems; interpret verbal and written instructions; logical thinking to solve problems including abstract and concrete variables; address practical problems, and comprehend most complex concepts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment.
  • Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and work to maintain constructive working relationships.
