Our Buffalo, New York plant is the newest and flagship facility utilizing our proven and growing Surestone technology. This state-of-the-art extrusion and polymer manufacturing site depends on a clean, safe, and organized environment to support our people and operations.
The Janitor – Day Shift is responsible for the general housekeeping and upkeep of office spaces, break rooms, restrooms, and other non-manufacturing areas throughout the Buffalo facility. This role helps maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment for employees, visitors, and plant leadership. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in keeping shared spaces clean and well stocked.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Clean and maintain offices, break rooms, restrooms, and other non-manufacturing areas throughout the facility
• Mop floors, vacuum offices, and dust or wipe down desks, counters, tables, and other surfaces
• Clean and scrub toilets, sinks, and other restroom fixtures
• Clean and sanitize refrigerators, microwaves, ice machines, and other shared break room equipment
• Ensure restrooms and break rooms remain stocked with paper products, soap, and other necessary supplies
• Maintain inventory of cleaning products and notify leadership when supplies need to be reordered
• Report any issues with restroom, break room, or janitorial equipment to the appropriate team
• Follow all safety procedures and use cleaning tools and equipment properly
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Support plant cleanliness standards and assist with other housekeeping-related duties as assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Minimum of 6 months of housekeeping, janitorial, or custodial experience preferred
• Ability to work in a safe manner and follow specific instructions
• Ability to use cleaning tools, supplies, and equipment properly
• Strong attention to detail and awareness of surroundings
• Ability to identify safety issues or equipment problems in assigned areas
• Ability to understand basic verbal and written instructions in English
• Ability to work under immediate supervision
• Ability to pass a drug test
• Ability to work hours assigned by management
Compensation & Benefit Information
Hourly Pay Range: $17.00 – $20.00 per hour
*pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of living
Bonus/Incentive Pay Incentive pay may be available for certain job roles and may include piece rate incentives, weekly production bonuses, and trip rate bonuses. A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.
