Position Purpose summary:
The role is responsible for performing janitorial duties and ensuring The Salvation Army Charlottetown Community Church ministries and facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe, and sanitary manner in compliance with applicable standards.
Accountabilities:
The incumbent may perform all, some, or similar duties to the listed below:
1. General duties
Health and Safety
Contribute to the overall safety of staff, volunteers, donors, clients, and guests (e.g., clear fire exits, cleans spillage; no obstacles inside/outside the buildings)
Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures.
Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
• Working environment is typically in the corps building in generally agreeable conditions and some outdoor duties.
• Days and Hours of work: 20 hours per week, mainly weekdays.
Eeducation, experience, and Qualifications:
Education, Qualifications and Certifications:
• High School Diploma
• Related maintenance Education/ Certificates would be an asset
Experience and Knowledge:
• Minimum 6 months’ custodial and/or maintenance work experience
Skills and Capabilities:
• Dependable
• Excellent communication skills
• Friendly disposition
Ability to lift an average weight of 25lbs with a maximum of 50lbs, on occasion where weights may exceed 25lbs the assistance of another person is mandatory.
Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $17.00 to $18.08 with a maximum of $21.69.
Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
