Job Description

WPS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Janitor at the Weston Power Plant located in Kronenwetter, Wisconsin This position is represented by Local No. 420 IUOE.

The Janitor position maintains company buildings and surrounding areas in an orderly condition by performing various cleaning and maintenance activities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain company buildings and surrounding areas to provide clean and safe environment for personnel:
    • perform early morning rounds
    • sweep, clean, mop, buff, and dust floors, stairs, desks and other office furniture
    • vacuum and shampoo carpet and perform carpet maintenance
    • dispose refuse and clean refuse areas
    • clean and disinfect restrooms, assembly areas, drinking fountains, and other needed areas and equipment
    • wash windows, walls, and rags
    • mow, water and trim lawns
    • maintain flower beds
    • perform snow removal activities
    • sand and salt roads and walkways as required
    • maintain walkways all year round
    • perform other cleaning duties using appropriate tools and machinery
    • monitor, correct or report building maintenance deficiencies to crew leader or appropriate supervisor
    • perform weekly office cleaning evaluations
    • perform monthly task list duties (e.g. fire extinguishers, exit lights, bathroom equipment)
    • maintain office cleaning equipment (e.g. floor scrubber, vacuums, sweeper)
  • Act as handyman in performing various building maintenance activities:
    • paint walls, fixtures and equipment
    • replace lamps, light bulbs, and fixture lenses
    • assemble office furniture and equipment
    • move office furniture and equipment
    • perform small plumbing maintenance and replacements
    • set up meeting rooms
    • perform delivery and pickups of building services materials.
  • Direct laborers to assist with work load and to ensure work is completed safely:
    • demonstrate methods of performing tasks
    • obtain parts and janitorial supplies from vendors and company warehouse
    • organize and clean supply storage areas
    • provide instruction on equipment operation
  • Use computer software that applies to job duties

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Drivers License

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some previous janitorial, building maintenance or related experience is desirable
  • Basic mechanical, plumbing and electrical knowledge is preferred

End Date: 05/28/2026

Minimum Posting Range: $33.88

Maximum Posting Range: $35.14

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
