Full timeUnder direct supervision, maintains premises of Tulsa County building clean and orderly by performing the following duties.

EXAMPLE OF WORK PERFORMED
• Sweeps and mops floors as needed.
• Vacuum and Waxing floor as needed.
• Empties wastebaskets and transports trash to designated locations for disposal.
• Cleans and polishes windows, walls, and hardware using prepared cleaning agents.
• Keeps restrooms and lounges clean and stocked with supplies.
• Clean up spills and mops floors dry.
• Picks up trash in public areas.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

Skill in the use of various cleaning supplies and equipment.

Knowledge of cleaning methods; and of building layout and office locations.

Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; and to maintain the physical stamina necessary to perform moderate manual labor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES

This job has no supervisor responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), required; and three months satisfactory full-time paid employment in a housekeeping or janitorial position, preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations with customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds to more than 100 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision which allows employee to decipher between different uniforms worn by inmates, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employee must be able to perform job duties while wearing gear weighting 10 pounds or more for extended periods of time.
