About the Role

FLATS®, a Proper company, is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Janitor to support the cleanliness, safety, and overall presentation of our residential community.

In this role, you’ll ensure that all common areas, amenities, and back-of-house spaces are consistently clean, well-maintained, and welcoming. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on janitorial or custodial experience who takes pride in maintaining high standards and contributing to a positive resident experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning of common areas including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, elevators, stairwells, and amenity spaces

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize surfaces to maintain a pristine environment

• Empty trash receptacles and manage waste disposal per property guidelines

• Restock supplies in restrooms and shared spaces

• Monitor property cleanliness throughout the day and respond promptly to spills or urgent needs

• Support light upkeep tasks, including exterior tidiness and minor cleaning duties

• Assist with move-in and move-out turnover cleaning

• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or unusual conditions to the appropriate team members

Requirements

Qualifications

• Previous janitorial, housekeeping, or custodial experience (residential, hospitality, or commercial preferred)

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and prolonged standing or walking

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision

• Basic communication skills and ability to follow safety procedures

• Flexibility to work a full-time schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends
