Status:Fulltime Non-Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid Nevada State Driver’s License and clean driving record
  • Must be able to carry out duties without close supervision
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds as well as with a wide-range of other organizational personnel in a courteous and professional manner
  • Highly adaptable; thrives on challenges and excels in new environments
  • Should possess time management skills and be able to complete assigned tasks
  • Should be physically fit and be able to complete all assigned work efficiently
  • An understanding and acceptance of the Salvation Army’s mission, philosophy, and practices
  • Must pass a criminal background check.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Perform routine and detailed cleaning duties for the facility that are scheduled on a daily, weekly and/or monthly basis.

General cleaningsweeping, vacuuming, mopping, sanitizing, and dusting all hard surface areas and bathrooms, including shower area

Detailed cleaningstripping, waxing, and shampooing for floors/carpets and scrubbing/painting for doors and walls

2. Maintain inventory of janitorial supplies and advise on monthly order

3. Keep supplies stocked throughout bathrooms daily

4. Keep janitorial closet, washroom, washer and dryer, and storage areas clean

5. Wash, dry, fold and put away linens

6. Service and maintain records for smoke alarms and fire extinguishers

7. Perform general maintenance, such as installing misc. items etc.

8. General clean-up and minor maintenance – exterior facility

9. Other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms on a continuous basis. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus. The employee must have the ability to operate a telephone, desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
