The Job

We are looking for a strong IZAKAYA Hostess, who is comfortable in a fast-paced, downtown environment
This position is service oriented and extremely outgoing. You will invite guests into the restaurant, inform guests about our dining options and lead them through the ideal options for them, and provide a “wow” experience for guests who may visit us for the first time. The role of a Hostess is essential in creating an unforgettable experience for all the guests of IZAKAYA Amsterdam. You will provide our guests with a warm and sincere greeting and to ensure any of their special requirements are carefully communicated to the rest of the IZAKAYA team. Ultimately, you'll ensure that we provide excellent guest service and a pleasant dining experience to our guests, always with a smile.

Your profile

For this role, you should be people skilled and motivated to make sure our guests have an unforgettable dining experience from the moment they arrive until their departure. The ideally candidate for this role has excellent communication skills, a passion for hospitality and thrive in a team based environment.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• A warm and welcoming delivery while processing our valued reserved and walk-in guests

• Excellent customer service skills in person and over the phone

• Positive attitude and aim to provide communication skills

• Provide accurate information and monitor waiting lists

• Escort guests to assigned dining or bar area

• Provide menus and explain the concept to our guests

• Bidding goodbye

• Maintain a clean reception and working area

• Cater to guests who require extra attention (e.g. children, elderly)

• Answer incoming calls and address customers’ queries

• Assist waiter staff as needed

• Previous work experience as a hostess

• Availability to work in shifts as needed

• Flexible availability on nights and weekends

• Good physical condition to walk and stand during an entire shift

Requirements

• You live in or nearby Amsterdam

• Excellent customer service skills in person, in writing and in speaking

• Availability to work in shifts as needed

• English needs to be spoken fluently
