TxDOT's Beaumont District is looking for an ITS Analyst I to join us in our Traffic Signal Department. If you’re driven by the challenge of shaping smarter, safer, and more connected transportation networks, this role puts you at the center of that mission. As a key contributor to our Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) initiatives, you’ll design, refine, and implement the automated systems that keep traffic flowing and communities moving. You’ll work independently on meaningful technical projects, collaborate with public and private partners, and help steward the technology that powers our Intelligent Transportation Operations Center. It’s a chance to turn complex data and infrastructure into real-world impact.

Develops and revises new and existing intelligent transportation system(s) (ITS). Performs responsible technical work including the analysis, design and implementation of automated traffic management systems. May be responsible for administering information resources and telecommunication hardware/software located within an Intelligent Transportation Operations Center. Work requires contact with governmental and private entities. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.
Bachelor's Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, telecommunications. Relevant work experience may be substituted for degree on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications
1 year experience in system analysis, design, computer programming. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.
Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.
