The mission

This comprehensive programme is designed to equip talented graduates with the knowledge, skills, and hands‑on experience needed to become ING’s future leaders. You’ll have the opportunity to shape your own ideas about banking in an open and supportive environment that encourages innovation and initiative.

The programme is truly international, bringing together over 100 trainees across 14 countries. Each year includes a global event designed as an immersive bootcamp, where you’ll focus on developing your personal and professional skills while connecting with peers from around the world.

Your journey as a trainee

The banking industry is evolving, and there has never been a more exciting time to be part of it.

At ING Hubs Romania, we are a team of engineers developing software solutions for multiple countries across ING. The projects we deliver impact millions of clients worldwide and play a key role in driving ING’s digital transformation. We work in an agile environment and value proactive individuals with a can‑do approach to problem solving, who use their curiosity to continuously broaden their knowledge and skills.

Now more than ever, Tech is the beating heart of ING. Apply for the Tech track!

As a trainee on the Tech track, you’ll have the opportunity to choose from a wide range of IT projects where you can make a meaningful impact. Your work will contribute directly to ING’s technology landscape and business ambitions.

We focus on five key business areas: Core Banking Development, Global Products, Digital Channels, Data Management, and Global Retail Solutions. Along the way, you’ll be exposed to modern technologies and concepts such as artificial intelligence, functional programming, continuous deployment, and web components—building skills that are highly relevant in today’s digital world.

Your ITP rotations
Over the course of 18 months, you’ll explore different areas within ING through a structured rotation program. You’ll have the opportunity to kick‑start your career in roles such as Java Developer, DevOps Engineer, IT Security Engineer, or Core Banking Developer, gaining hands‑on experience while discovering where your interests and strengths align best.

During this year and a half, you’ll complete three rotations, each lasting six months. In the second rotation, you’ll have the unique opportunity to work abroad on one of your projects. With ING’s global presence, this international experience could take you to locations such as Singapore, the United States, Poland, Australia, or Spain.

  • Sustainability
    We aim to be a leading bank in building a sustainable future for our company, our customers, society, and the environment. That’s why we offer you the opportunity to be a pioneer in helping define new, more sustainable ways of doing business.

  • A maximum of 2 years of professional experience;
  • Involvement in extracurricular activities (such as board or committee experience, volunteer work, internships) to prove your leadership development and interest in the track that you applied for;
