Job Description

The IT/OT Field Systems Lead is responsible for the management, security, and optimization of industrial control systems (ICS), SCADA, and plant networks. This position serves as a liaison between IT and operational engineering, with an emphasis on maximizing system availability, enforcing cybersecurity standards, and leading technical initiatives to improve automation and data integration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • System Strategy & Architecture Owns the plant and Satellite IT/OT architecture ensuring security, and reliability.
  • Deployment, Implementation & Maintenance: Leads field-level troubleshooting, implementation, and testing, of SCADA systems, PLC integrations, and plant network infrastructure.
  • Operational Maintenance & Support Maintains comprehensive asset inventories, monitors system health, and troubleshoots errors from endpoints to applications.
  • Vendor & Contractor Management: Coordinates with Strata Solar Services Team, and external vendors to manage plant installations, and oversee safety compliance.
  • Standards & Documentation: Defines technical standards, best practices, and documentation procedures for OT/IoT hardware and software.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Acts as the primary liaison between IT teams, engineering, and plant operations to ensure operational alignment.
  • Regulatory Compliance Maintain federal, state, and company regulatory cybersecurity and safety compliance at all times
  • Training and Development: Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in professional organizations.
  • Project Management: Support IT projects by researching, recommending, implementing new technologies, and providing training when necessary.
  • Data Protection and Privacy Protects the organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Other duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities: Team Lead

  • Lead IT/OT Field Technicians
  • Coaches, counsels, and trains IT Field Technicians

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Education: Associates degree (or equivalent) in IT, Computer Science or Engineering preferred
  • Experience: 1-3 years in IT Support, Network Administration or Field Service related field and 2+ years'
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in LAN/WAN networking, firewalls, VPNs, Server Maintenance and Industrial Control Systems (PLC/SCADA)
  • Physical Ability: Ability to lift 25-50lbs, climb ladders, and work in varied environments
  • Certifications CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ or Cisco Certifications CCT/CCNA are a plus.
  • Travel: 60-70% travel can be expected
