POSITION TITLE: Itinerant Substitute Teacher

This position is responsible for delivering the instructional program that the classroom teacher has put in place in order to continue to guide and encourage students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. The person in this position must demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds. Depending on the length of the assignment, this position may be required to participate in professional activities as well as academic support activities. This position reports to the Manager of Substitute Staffing.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the performance of light work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. The position involves prolonged sitting, standing, walking, talking, and hearing; occasional stooping, bending, and reaching; some pushing, pulling, lifting, kneeling, balancing, and crouching. The position involves having close visual acuity to perform activities of the job. The position also requires the operation of learning technologies such as computers, handheld devices, etc. as well as relevant office equipment. Work is performed mostly in an indoor environment, with occasional outdoor requirements. Work is performed in a generally clean and hazard-free environment.
