Job Description

Configuration management is the discipline that decides whether anyone can answer the question "what is actually running, and who changed it". This post owns that record: tracking configuration items, verifying and approving changes, holding people to the naming and versioning standards, and auditing the data rather than trusting it.

It sits next to change control and service level management, so the work is a mixture of process, tooling and a steady amount of investigation.

What you would be doing

  • Apply the tools and processes that track, log and correct information about configuration items.
  • Verify and approve changes, protecting assets and components from unauthorised change or misuse.
  • Hold users to the identification standards for object types, environments, processes, life cycles, documentation, versions, formats, baselines, releases and templates.
  • Audit the accuracy of the information and put right what the audit finds.
  • Develop, document and implement changes from requests for change, and report on them.
  • Monitor and log the service actually delivered against the service level agreements.
  • Create and maintain an accurate asset register, with the reports and analysis that make it useful.
  • Carry out basic risk management, and keep the record of risks, threats, vulnerabilities and mitigations.
  • Apply standard data modelling and design techniques, and explain the resulting structures to the people who use them.

What you would bring

  • Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with three years of related experience, or a secondary qualification with five.
  • Three years of practical work across the configuration management disciplines, in a configuration management role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with IT service management tooling, BMC Remedy ITSM 9.1 or later in particular.
  • A good grasp of the infrastructure behind those tools, including mainstream databases such as SQL Server and Oracle.
  • Practical experience of ITIL change and configuration management practice; ITIL Foundation is desirable.

The work is full time on site in Izmir. You will need to be eligible to work in Türkiye — either citizenship, or a valid work and residence permit. Very occasionally the role supports a second site about 35 km away, with transport provided.
