What You Will Do:
- You will be a part of the IT Vendor Management team managing a spend lifecycle platform as the lead administrator & Solution Owner, creating forecast visibility through business intelligence reporting and analytics, optimize the use of data tables for more informed decision-making, develop and maintain platform integrations, develop and manage business processes and workflows, directly supporting the Caterpillar Information Technology leaders.
- This position helps guide leaders through the planning, approval, and execution steps for third party spend, contract management, and post execution service delivery management.
- You will also provide leadership to a team of developers managing the platform roadmap driving future enhancements and releases - utilizing Agile methodology and the Azure DevOps tools.
- You will be recognized within the Caterpillar IT community as a platform leader and expert in the management of information technology spend and contract workflows.
Critical Work Role Position Performs:
- The Solution Owner directly supports Caterpillar IT VMO, IT Service Owners, spend/transactional coordinators, and other teams for the management and execution of their third party spend lifecycle management, bringing together forecasted spend, budget approvals, and initiating and aligning all contract management activities. The role directly manages the data, integrations, platform development, and reporting for the Caterpillar Vendor Management Operations team. This Owner manages the data and tools helping guide leaders through the planning, approval, and execution steps for third party spend, contract management, and post execution service delivery management.
- Actively manage the FR3 application, reporting, analytics, data tables, integrations supporting the Caterpillar IT VMO Team. The position would be the lead FR3 administrator, access/permissions, database/platform integrations, audits, risks, roadmap/enhancements, development, deployment.
Skills + Experiences
- Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions/enhancements.
- Business: Knowledge of the business activities, tasks, and workflows for managing spend and contracts; ability to assess the business value, impacted activities, workflows, risks, and user interface.
- Workflows: The lead enables the alignment of the IT forecasted spend, budget approvals, and initiation of contract management activities.
- Applications: The ability to leverage multiple applications and associated data tables for delivery of services focused on improving the end user experiences and improve the speed to delivery.
- Collaboration: Manage an internally developed platform utilizing M365 collaboration software (Dataverse, PowerApps, Power Automate, Power Apps, PowerBI) and develop connections to other Procurement and Finance platforms and their associated databases - driving centralized data availability for data integration, management, and reporting (using Snowflake).
- Design: Ability to convert business requirements into the platform design and manage continuous improvements to a user testing and release schedule across multiple business user personas.
- Deployment: Develop focused communications and change management activities for end-users and internal administrative.
- Technology: Knowledge of the features and facilities of Procurement and Accounting systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms.
- Administration: Manage platform access/permissions, database/platform integrations, audits, risks, roadmap/enhancements, development, and deployments.
- Governance: Provide direct support to the Spend Business Office (SBO) for prioritization and development of enhancements and support annual audit evaluations.
- Reporting: Manages multiple Microsoft PowerBI reports used to monitor tasks/activities, provide status reports, track delinquent items, manage savings/cost avoidance tracking.
- Coordination: Coordinates with the Indirect Procurement Center of Excellence (CoE) on reporting, available data tables, data quality, required metadata, data dictionaries.
- Information: Knowledge of the methods, channels and processes to obtain needed information; ability to identify, capture and document relevant business information in an auditable, organized, understandable and easily retrievable manner.
- Environment: Knowledge of an organization's IT purposes and activities; ability to create an effective IT environment for Vendor Management business operations.
- Standards: Knowledge of Information Technology (IT) standards and policies; ability to utilize a variety of administrative skill sets and technical knowledge to manage IT policies, standards, and procedures.
What You Have:
- Ability to simultaneously lead multiple initiatives while consistently meeting timelines and milestones.
- Ability to accurately interpret complex contract language and summarize historical contracts.
- Understanding of the unique aspects of technology that can and will be utilized for solution architecture and deployments.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Fluent in the English language both written and verbal.
- Well-developed collaboration skills communicating across the organization and reaching consensus on specific actions.
- Functional leadership. Capable of leading teams and resources to effective solutions.
- Analytical, problem solving, and project leadership skill.
- Bachelor’s degree or more than 5 years’ equivalent experience in an area of study relevant to this position
Additional information:
- Travel expectation is 20%.
Note: This position requires the candidate to work onsite five days a week.
