As an IT Training & Optimization Analyst, you’ll be a trusted partner to clinical and IT teams—designing and delivering effective training, improving workflows, and helping end users confidently adopt system enhancements. This is an exciting opportunity to influence how technology is used in collaboration with The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC).

Responsibilities

Purpose: Under the direction of the Sr. Director of IT (or his/her delegate), and in collaboration with The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC), will provide consultation in the planning, design, development, and delivery of training for EPIC or other electronic medical record and systems; identify mechanisms to optimize system utilization and processes; assists in the review of workflows and processes; and provide training to staff and physicians.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assesses clinical training needs of the organization, department and end user. Assists in the analysis and evaluation of existing or proposed clinical systems, workflows and processes; works collaboratively to define future state for clinical workflows.
  • Delivers training to various audiences (new hires, refresher training, skill enhancement and system update training). Responsible for managing moderately, complex clinical applications training issues and problems; provides technical support in response to user issues and questions pertaining to training, functionality, operations, input/output, reporting and general operating procedures.
  • Implements training/communications; coordinates system change communications; keeps end users up to date on system changes or updates throughout a project or upgrade.
  • Assists in the development of change management strategies and training needs.
  • Provides and recommends creative solutions to processes and procedures for enhancements, additions, or modifications to improve clinical systems. Advises the build teams on any such system enhancements or modifications.
  • Participates in a variety of training and optimization projects.
  • Develops and maintains networks of super users within specialty areas; utilizes these groups to assure end user familiarity with system changes and enhancements.
  • Serves as a liaison between training and IT to coordinate needs assessments, impact analyses, resource utilization, system requirements and integration methodologies.
  • Other duties or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Associates degree in a clinical field, information systems or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience with an electronic medical record or system.
  • If not already certified, the IT Training & Optimization Analyst must obtain an Epic build certification within 6 months of the date of hire in order to gain the necessary access to OSUWMC Epic training and development environments.

Preferences:

  • Bachelor of Science in a clinical field, information systems or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Current Epic build certification.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Possess strong communication skills to respond to common and complex inquiries. Ability to demonstrate initiative and completion of projects, self-motivation and ability to work independently while being a team player. Extensive knowledge of adult learning principles and demonstrated experience using these principles when building training plans and materials. Critical thinking to be able to work at the highest technical level of most phases of application education while being able to consider current and future state implications.

Pay Range

USD $60,026.74 - USD $90,039.71 /Yr.
