An opportunity has arisen for a customer-focused IT Support Technician to join our team on a maternity cover contract, supporting the delivery of high-quality IT services across the organisation.
The Role
As an IT Support Technician, you will be the first point of contact for IT issues, owning and resolving incidents and service requests to ensure minimal disruption to the business.
You’ll support a wide range of technologies, hardware, software, networks, and telephony while working collaboratively with internal teams and external providers to deliver reliable, secure IT services.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support & Service Delivery
• Act as the first point of contact for IT queries, delivering excellent customer service
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues within agreed SLAs
• Take ownership of incidents and service requests through to resolution
• Escalate complex issues to third-party providers where required
Systems, Equipment & Maintenance
• Install, configure, and maintain IT equipment (desktops, laptops, mobile devices, peripherals)
• Support operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and Microsoft Office applications
• Carry out repairs to hardware and associated infrastructure
• Monitor system alerts and ensure timely escalation
Asset & Data Management
• Maintain accurate IT asset records and inventory
• Perform IT equipment audits and lifecycle management (deployment, movement, disposal)
• Update documentation, user guides, and knowledge base articles
Projects & Continuous Improvement
• Support IT projects, system rollouts, and upgrades
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance user experience
• Work closely with wider IT teams and business functions
Security & Compliance
• Follow IT security policies and best practices
• Support access control and user account management (Active Directory)
• Maintain system integrity through patching, updates, and monitoring
About You
Essential Skills & Experience
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an IT support environment
• Strong experience supporting Windows operating systems and hardware
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
• Experience with Active Directory administration
• Understanding of networks (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong customer service and communication abilities
• Full UK driving licence
Desirable
• IT certifications (e.g. CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Professional)
• Experience with telephony systems (PBX/VoIP)
• Knowledge of CCTV or access control systems

Benefits
Hours of work: 37.5 per week (this position will be working Monday – Friday in the office)
Contract duration Up to 10 months
Salary: £34k pro rata
All offers of employment are subject to us obtaining satisfactory references (covering all education, training, employment and unemployment in the preceding 5 years) and there will be a pre-employment medical including a Drug and Alcohol test. We need to satisfy your Right to Work in the UK.
