IT Technician, Onsite [San Diego, CA]

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized IT Technician to support employee onboarding, equipment deployment, and IT procurement operations. This entry-level role is ideal for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes to ensure employees have the technology and access they need to be successful from day one.

The IT Technician will assist with preparing and deploying computers, managing inventory, coordinating hardware purchases, and providing basic technical support to staff. This position works closely with Human Resources, Operations, and the IT team to maintain efficient onboarding and equipment management processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and configure laptops and peripherals for new hires
• Create user accounts
• Track and maintain inventory of IT equipment and accessories
• Assist with ordering, receiving, and organizing IT hardware and software
• Work with vendors and suppliers to support procurement activities
• Maintain accurate asset records and documentation
• Provide basic troubleshooting and technical support for employees
• Assist with workstation setups, office moves, and equipment replacements
• Ensure devices are updated, secured, and compliant with company standards
• Respond to helpdesk tickets related to onboarding and equipment replacements

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or technical certification preferred
• Strong organizational, critical thinking and time management skills
• Basic understanding of computer hardware and Windows operating systems
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple requests
• Comfortable working with spreadsheets, inventory systems, and documentation
• Previous experience in IT support, inventory management, or administrative support is a plus

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Active Directory
• Experience with ticketing or asset management systems
• Basic understanding of procurement workflows

The hourly rate for this position is $23-$25 per hour.
