Join our Systems and Endpoint team and help shape the future of TechOps at John Holland. Embracing DevOps principles and best practices, we leverage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines to automate, scale, and streamline our infrastructure. You’ll play a key role in managing the adoption of new solutions, strengthening endpoint security, supporting cloud-driven initiatives, and delivering a seamless, high-performance experience across the organisation.
We are currently seeking an experienced IT Systems Engineer to join our IT team based out of the Flinders Gate office in Melbourne.
You will be responsible for supporting planning, design, and implementation of changes to the Azure and AWS infrastructure to improve functionality, automation, reliability, resiliency, performance, security, and efficiency, in order to support the core applications and services across different business units.
As a member of the team, you will work closely with Level 3 and Level 2 support to assist troubleshooting and help identify resolutions, as well as partnering closely with stakeholders and third-party vendors to implement improvements or resolve issues.
You will ideally have tertiary qualifications in Computing or a related discipline, as well as extensive experience with core Microsoft server products, including Active Directory (on prem and Azure AD), Exchange, IIS, Office 365, and SQL Server.
You’ll have experience in supporting Azure services at scale, and supporting Enterprise applications in large organisations, along with hands-on experience with Intune/Onprem Hybrid environment. Experience with AWS, PowerShell, Python, WSL or Bash is a bonus.
You’re someone who manages your time well, takes a logical approach to problem solving, and brings a design and automation mindset – anything that can be automated, should be automated. Your strong attention to detail and ability to work through issues calmly and efficiently will make you a valued part of the team.
