IT System Administrator - Critical Infrastructure (Rail) (m/f/d)

We are looking for an IT System Administrator to join our team and support the operation and further development of complex IT systems in a safety-critical rail environment. In this role, you will ensure the reliable operation, integration, and monitoring of IT and OT systems that are essential for the safe and efficient functioning of rail infrastructure.

Your Tasks

  • Plan, operate, and maintain complex IT systems in a critical infrastructure environment with high availability requirements
  • Ensure compliance with defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and internal quality standards
  • Integrate and configure IT systems into existing and new infrastructures, with a strong focus on IT/OT security
  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve issues
  • Support the definition, implementation, and continuous improvement of operational processes and tools
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for systems and processes
  • Configure, parameterize, and test IT applications in line with operational and security requirements

Your Qualifications

  • Completed vocational training as a Fachinformatiker:in, Elektroniker:in für Informations- und Systemtechnik, Techniker:in, or a comparable qualification
  • Solid experience in the administration of Windows Server systems and Active Directory
  • Good knowledge of network technologies (Network Layer, Link Layer, Physical Layer)
  • Basic knowledge of IT/OT security and experience in critical infrastructure environments
  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g. CheckMK) is a plus
  • Linux experience, preferably with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, is desirable
  • Structured and analytical working style with a strong focus on problem-solving
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and take responsibility
  • Business fluency in German is required. Good English skills are an advantage

Nice to Have

  • Microsoft certifications (e.g. Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator, Azure Administrator)
  • Experience in the rail, transportation, or energy sector
  • Knowledge of relevant standards (e.g. IEC 62443)
