Job Description

Complete an internship project at SOPHiA GENETICS whose mission is to drive forward the future of liquid biopsy testing by joining the IT Services Team as an Support Specialist Intern.

Your mission:

You will assist with optimizing and automating our internal service desk portal and contribute to improving the IT support experience across the company. You will work closely with the IT team to ensure smooth operations, enhance the user experience, and contribute to IT solutions that streamline workflows within SOPHiA GENETICS.

You will be involved in:

  • Assisting in creation and testing a Tech services infrastructure dashboards used throughout the organization.
  • Supporting MDM setup (JAMF, Intune) and helping document workflows.
  • Collaboration with engineers to align with SOC2 and C5 compliance.
  • Assisting with the monitoring and management of the internal helpdesk, responding to IT requests from employees and reporting key metrics.
  • Supporting the configuration of role-based access control (RBAC), user accounts, and access permissions.
  • Contributing to Information Security & Network Operations, helping maintain secure and efficient IT systems.
  • Using project tracking and issue management software, such as Jira Cloud to manage and report on IT support activities.
  • Providing IT support for whole company (CH, FR, US).

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience with system administration is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Apple environments.
  • Some knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash/Shell, Python) is a plus.
  • Awareness of security and compliance concepts (SOC2, C5).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical issues and maintaning KB.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
