The IT Support Specialist earns a competitive salary of $22.92-24.81 per hour based on qualifications. Additionally, the city pays all premiums for our employees' dental, long-term disability protection, and life insurance plus the majority portion of the medical premium for employees and their dependents. Essential Job Functions:

• Answers calls for tech support; answers the IT emergency line and calls or emails for support.
• Implements IT projects for departments within the City.
• Installs and upgrades software for users and vendors; performs upkeep, management, and administration of IT systems.
• Gathers information and data for various IT projects to increase user efficiency; creates new and updated workplace tools.
• Presents IT information and guidance that could lead to actionable events or purchases.
• Provides information and guidance on how to effectively complete departmental tasks from a technological perspective.
• Enforces IT policies and procedures.
• Provide technical support to all users and systems within the City of Pearland.
• Perform sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time
• Exert up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
• Climb ladders no larger than 8' on occasion to perform your essential job duties.

Education, Certifications, and Experience:

• Requires an Associate's Degree or specialized courses/training equivalent to the satisfactory completion of two years of college in information technology or a closely related field.
• Requires two years of information technology support or closely related experience.
• One year of Audio-Visual experience preferred
