Job Description
The Information Technology Specialist is responsible for the administration, maintenance, security, and support of computer systems, network infrastructure, software applications, and technology equipment supporting the Education & Training Section. This position provides technical support, maintains system reliability, supports technology improvements, and ensures uninterrupted operations.
Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and support computer systems, servers, network infrastructure, wireless networks, and technology equipment.
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, upgrade, and maintain hardware, software, operating systems, and peripheral devices.
- Provide technical support to users and resolve system, network, software, and equipment issues.
- Maintain system documentation, backup and recovery procedures, inventories, and activity reports.
- Monitor system performance, data integrity, and information security.
- Support technology planning, equipment lifecycle management, and infrastructure improvements.
- Research and recommend hardware, software, and technology solutions.
- Train personnel on software applications, technology tools, and security procedures.
- Maintain accountability for assigned technology assets and equipment inventories.
- Respond to emergency system outages and provide technical support as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum one (1) year of current experience within the past five (5) years supporting information technology systems.
- Current CompTIA A+ certification.
- Current CompTIA Security+ certification.
- Knowledge of computer and network security principles.
- Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Windows-based systems, hardware, software, and networks.
- Experience with AFAEMS, Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) systems, and My Learning CDC Assessment System is desirable but not required.
Work Classification: Part-Time, Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-12:30 PM (25 hours per week).
Place of Performance: On-site, Travis Air Force Base, California.
