Information Technology (IT) develops and optimises the engine that powers De Beer’s digital and technology ecosystems, so our people can make life brilliant in the ways we work and operate. We are a team of highly specialised experts who consistently push the boundaries of digital, technology, and automation - innovating to drive a smarter, safer, and more sustainable enterprise.

This is a tactical role conducting and managing IT demand management, support, governance, analysis, project and vendor management services within the targeted domain. The role is a De Beers Group business domain and technical expert with deep and extensive knowledge of the ERP systems landscape and business processes. They are aligned with IT and business objectives and operating model.

The purpose of this role is to support the business strategy of leveraging systems to directly drive business value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work safely and be committed to being a safety leader
  • Keep up to date with technology trends and developments and envision, suggest and introduce enhancements
  • Ensure the knowledge underpinning service delivery is documented, managed and maintained
  • Adheres to and participates in governance forums and processes
  • Serve as the business relationship conduit for the allocated domain on Group Enterprise Platforms
  • Enable the business to achieve its objectives through the effective use of technology
  • Optimise business performance by enhancing the alignment between business processes and IT systems
  • Provide coaching, training and advise on future use of technology and business process to targeted clients
  • Work closely with process owners and key users to understand business requirements and drive the building of quality solutions
  • Perform functional analysis, requirements definition and solution configuration and testing, in conjunction with delivery teams
  • Develop functional specifications and setting of configurations in partnership with third party development teams
  • Drive the adoption of best practice and enforce the use of standard systems and solutions
  • Act as the key specialist point of contact for service providers and clients in problem solving and investigations related to service and technology incidents and requests
  • Identify risk root causes and quantify potential business impact. Implement solutions to reduce level of exposure
  • Manage and optimise targeted functional systems/modules to support efficient and accurate financial management
  • Manage and take responsibility for the remediation of all IT critical service disrupting incidents within domain (including RCA and remediation plans & actions)
  • Management of applicable IT vendors
  • Drive finance systems, within scope, compliance with regulations
  • Monitor and control priority calls related to service domain (Incident Management)
  • Develop reports and dashboards to analyse data for decision-making
  • Adheres to and participates in governance forums and processes
  • Ensure effective Group IT change management processes are in place for any system changes
  • Ensure domain services are delivered according to standard operating procedures and agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA)
  • Coordinate IT related communication for the relevant key stakeholders under span of control
  • Focus on customer service, troubleshooting and immediate time-bound response for the Group Enterprise Platform users
  • Integration and collaboration across peer groups
  • Identify efficiency opportunities and close out all service improvement actions
  • Advise with technical guidance and support to service delivery teams and end-users
  • Manage, deliver and partake in projects as required
  • Work with the wider group and business unit IT teams to ensure compliance to policy and standards of the IT platforms

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience

  • An undergraduate qualification or equivalent
  • Experience working in a multinational, multi-cultural environment
  • SAP Certification
  • IT Service Delivery, vendor management, project management
  • Business case formulation, design and delivery of group enterprise solutions
  • Stakeholder engagement and management
  • Functional exposure to relevant applications and process

Knowledge & Technical Skills

  • Ability to work across organisational and functional boundaries, with good influencing skills, excellent stakeholder and supplier management skills
  • Overarching governance and quality management, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
  • New technologies and their impact on operational activities
  • Business improvement tools and techniques
  • Proven skills in setting goals, planning, prioritising and administering work
  • Catalyst to delivering improvements and change
  • Capacity to learn quickly, understand complex business processes, and spot development areas
  • Strong thinking and problem-solving skills. A self-starter who takes the initiative and follows through
  • Understands business strategies and can make the link to IT contribution
  • Understands the IT Architecture and how their own work contributes to its achievement
  • SAP Finance (overall solution including JV Accounting, Sales and Distribution, etc.)
  • SAP cross functional knowledge and insight
  • SAP Application Management and Development Tools (capabilities) · Intelligent Automation / RPA Toolsets, Methods and Approaches · BI/ Reporting Tools (capabilities and overall architecture)

Other requirements to perform work effectively

  • International travel may be required
  • Outside of normal working hours may be required
