Job Description

We’re hiring an IT Service Specialist, Treasury and Group Finance for IT Finance Domain.

We are looking for an IT Service Specialist to join our IT Treasury and Group Finance Solutions team, part of the IT Finance Process Domain. Our mission is to ensure business continuity by delivering high-quality IT services and leading sustainable development in a way that meets the organization’s business needs and uses its resources effectively.

As an IT Service Specialist, you will be responsible for application management support, service quality, and operational continuity for planning and analytics related IT services and solutions within your scope. The role includes ensuring service performance, supporting operational stability, driving continuous improvement and collaborating with stakeholders and vendors to deliver fit-for-purpose, secure, and sustainable solutions.

You will collaborate closely with Valmet business areas, external stakeholders, and other IT teams, supporting business needs through reliable day-to-day service delivery, operational continuity, and continuous service improvement. You will also contribute to governance, service quality, compliance, and roadmap alignment in cooperation with relevant stakeholders.

We are looking for a person for a permanent position.

What you will be accountable for

  • Support and continuously improve planning and analytics related IT service solutions in alignment with business needs and IT architecture principles.
  • Ensure service continuity, operational stability, and high-quality IT service delivery for the solutions within your scope.
  • Contribute to the end-to-end service lifecycle, including service transition, operations, continuous improvement, and service performance follow-up.
  • Coordinate and support incident, problem, and change management activities to minimize business impact and ensure effective resolution and communication.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders, process owners, key users, vendors, and IT teams to gather needs, prioritize improvements, and support service and application improvements.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities related to service quality, support processes, usability, governance, and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain relevant service documentation, knowledge content, and configuration-related information to support efficient and controlled service operations.
  • Support vendor collaboration, service quality follow-up and compliance with agreed ways of working and service expectations.
  • Contribute to security, compliance, and risk mitigation activities within the service scope.
  • Bring key input to roadmap planning by identifying opportunities for architectural improvements, service optimization, and application rationalization.

What kind of background we expect from you

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in information technology, finance, business, economics or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Relevant experience of 3-5 years in IT application support, service management, solution development, or business application ownership.
  • Experience with business-critical applications and services in finance, planning, analytics, or reporting related areas is considered an advantage.
  • Familiarity with ITIL based IT service management processes such as incident, problem, change, knowledge and configuration management.
  • Understanding of service performance follow-up, continuous improvement and stakeholder-oriented service delivery.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, vendors and cross-functional IT teams in a global environment.
  • Experience in documenting requirements, maintaining service documentation and supporting governance and compliance practices.
  • Understanding of security and risk considerations in IT service operations is seen as a benefit.
  • Strong communication skills, self-driven and structured way of working and a hands-on attitude.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
