We’re currently growing our team of Artisans with an Information Technologies Specialist (IT Specialist) to be located at our Support Center is Spring, Texas.

The IT Specialist provides hands-on technical support for end users across Refined Technologies’ global locations. This role focuses on endpoint support, user productivity, and frontline troubleshooting of IT systems, devices, and applications. Working under the direction of the Director, Infrastructure & Cybersecurity, the IT Specialist responds to service requests, resolves technical issues, supports modern Microsoft 365 environments, and contributes to consistent, secure, and reliable technology operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitor, triage, and resolve incoming service desk tickets using established IT service management (ITSM) tools.
  • Provide technical support via phone, email, remote tools, and in person.
  • Install, configure, and support laptops, desktops, iPads, iPhones, printers, scanners, and related peripherals for local and remote users.
  • Maintain accurate hardware and asset inventory records.
  • Maintain ownership of assigned tickets through resolution, ensuring timely updates and clear communication.
  • Provide support for approved third-party business applications and coordinate with vendors as required.
  • Assist with deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mobile devices using Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions.
  • Perform basic network troubleshooting for LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless, and connectivity issues, escalating as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with the Technology team to resolve issues and assist with multi-resource IT projects as directed.
  • Assist infrastructure and cybersecurity team members with monitoring, maintenance, and support activities under direction.
  • Provide user-level support for cloud-based services and applications, including Microsoft 365.
  • Stay current with evolving technologies, tools, and IT best practices relevant to the role.
  • Follow and support IT security policies, including password hygiene, MFA usage, endpoint security, and phishing awareness.
  • Assist users with identifying and reporting potential security incidents or suspicious activity.
  • Contribute to documentation and internal knowledge bases to support continuous improvement.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the position of IT Specialist will have the following prerequisites:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in technical support, help desk, or IT operations.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers, operating systems, and standard IT hardware.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and Entra ID in an enterprise environment
  • Strong customer-service mindset with interest in helping others apply technology effectively.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to follow documented procedures and escalate issues appropriately.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • CompTIA A+ or equivalent foundational IT certification preferred.
  • Microsoft 365 Fundamentals or Endpoint Administrator Associate preferred.
  • Experience supporting Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365 applications, identity and access issues, mobile devices, and standard IT peripherals.
  • Our IT Specialist must have an interest in helping others (servant’s heart), work well as a team leader and member, have a positive attitude, and enjoy developing new technologies.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

  • Office environment with remote support responsibilities. Able to lift 15-30 pounds as needed when moving equipment, files, etc..

Travel Requirements

  • Only as needed for training and off-site business meetings.
