The Waimakariri District Council is seeking to appoint an IT Service Desk Engineer on a full-time basis at our service centre in Rangiora, North Canterbury.
We are looking for a savvy and motivated person to join our innovative ICT team, where digital transformation is in our DNA. You will be a trusted advisor in all stages and aspects of service desk, and what you do not know you will be keen to get stuck in and learn.
You know what it takes to be an IT Service Desk Engineer. The key skills and competencies we are looking for include:
•1+ Years experience in IT service desk/helpdesk support
•Hardware support for desktop, laptop and Android mobile devices
•In-depth understanding of Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 solutions
•Good understanding of basic network principles and troubleshooting
•Remote support of staff and councillors
•Analytical skills to support the triaging and resolution of user issues
We are looking for someone with the ability to demonstrate exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, an ability to bring new ideas to the table, and a passion for all things digital and a willingness to go the extra mile.
