THE POSITION:

The Scrum Master is responsible for supporting disciplined, iterative delivery by enabling cross‑functional technology teams to execute effectively against established priorities. This role focuses on team coordination, delivery alignment, progress visibility, and impediment management, working in close partnership with Project Managers, Product Owners, and technical leaders. The Scrum Master does not own the project plan, schedule, or budget, but plays a critical role in maintaining delivery momentum and execution quality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enables effective team collaboration by fostering a high‑performing, transparent working environment and supporting clear communication across developers, testers, business analysts, and other IT professionals.
  • Supports delivery execution by reinforcing delivery objectives, maintaining alignment to agreed priorities, and helping teams adapt as conditions or requirements change.
  • Facilitates work readiness by helping translate priorities into clear, actionable backlog items and ensuring work is sufficiently defined to support execution.
  • Supports capacity planning and estimation practices to enable realistic team commitments and sustainable delivery pace.
  • Monitors delivery progress, identifies risks and impediments, and proactively works with teams and stakeholders to resolve blockers or escalate issues as needed.
  • Supports stakeholder communication by contributing to delivery visibility, status reporting, expectation management, and proactive risk communication.
  • Supports deployment readiness and post‑launch stabilization by assisting with go‑live coordination, hypercare activities, and transition to ongoing support teams.

Qualifications

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, education, knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.

  • Knowledge of Agile and iterative delivery practices and the ability to support backlog readiness, capacity planning, estimation, and delivery tracking within technology projects.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional IT teams and stakeholders, fostering collaboration, alignment, and consistent execution.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and problem‑solving skills, including the ability to monitor progress, identify impediments, and escalate issues appropriately.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degreein Business, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experiencesupporting technology delivery, Agile teams, or project execution in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience using delivery management tools(e.g., Azure Dev Ops, Jira or similar platforms) preferred.
  • Preferred (Bonus):Scrum Master or Agile certification (e.g., CSM, PSM).
