Position: IT Release Manager

Location: Lisbon / Hybrid

Job Summary: We are looking for an IT Release Manager to oversee and coordinate the release and deployment process, ensuring operational precision, stability, and compliance throughout the delivery lifecycle. The role combines Agile coordination, technical release management, risk assessment, and decision-making, with a strong focus on Git, deployment preparation, and cross-functional communication.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee release planning and Jira ticket management, ensuring compliance with established release processes.
• Manage Git branches, merges, and package creation, identifying and resolving merge conflicts.
• Coordinate and lead regular release alignment meetings with relevant stakeholders.
• Prepare production deployments, including delivery manifests and detailed operational instructions.
• Assess release risks and make timely decisions to postpone or abort deployments when stability may be compromised.
• Monitor the overall release landscape and ensure dependencies and potential blockers are identified.
• Act as a technical point of contact for release status, specifications, and deployment-related matters.
• Drive the resolution of operational bottlenecks and support continuous improvement of release processes.

Requirements:

• Advanced, hands-on expertise in Git, including branching strategies, repository management, merges, and complex conflict resolution.
• Previous experience in Release Management, Deployment Management, IT Operations, or a similar role.
• Strong experience with Jira and Agile methodologies.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple workflows simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and a rigorous approach to production deployments.
• Ability to make fast, informed decisions and manage risks effectively under pressure.
• Excellent communication and meeting facilitation skills.
• Proactive, autonomous, and solution-oriented mindset.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to different stakeholders.
