Job Summary

The IT Quality Assurance Specialist position is responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the QA framework, methodologies and tools that enable consistent and effective software and application testing across the organization.

The role coordinates QA activities performed by Business and IT testers, provides guidance on the application of agreed testing methodologies and standards, and monitors testing progress, defects, risks and release readiness. Working closely with application teams, developers, business analysts and other stakeholders, the position helps ensure solutions are tested consistently and meet agreed quality requirements prior to deployment.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

QA Framework & Methodology

  • Maintain and continuously improve QA standards, testing methodologies, frameworks, templates and guidelines.
  • Support Business and IT teams in translating business and technical requirements into appropriate testing approaches, scenarios and test cases.
  • Provide the tools, templates and guidance required for consistent planning, execution and documentation of testing activities.

Testing Coordination & Release Quality

  • Coordinate testing activities performed by Business and IT testers, ensuring appropriate planning, ownership, coverage and timelines.
  • Monitor testing progress, defects and risks and provide clear visibility of testing status.
  • Review testing outcomes and provide QA input on release readiness to relevant stakeholders and decision-makers.

QA Tools & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain and improve test-management and QA tools and support the effective use of test automation frameworks and practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, consistency and quality of testing through standardization, automation and improved ways of working.
  • Stay current with relevant QA methodologies, tools and practices and introduce appropriate improvements.

Collaboration & Governance

  • Work closely with application teams, developers, business analysts and Business and IT testers to ensure quality requirements are understood and addressed throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Provide professional guidance to Business and IT testers on the consistent application of agreed QA methodologies, tools and standards.
  • Provide QA input to relevant change and release governance processes, including CAB where required.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Relevant professional certification in Software Testing or Quality Assurance, such as ISTQB, is an advantage.

Work Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in Software Quality Assurance, Software Testing, Application Quality or a related IT environment.
  • Experience working with QA methodologies, testing frameworks and test-management processes.
  • Experience coordinating testing activities across Business and IT stakeholders.
  • Experience working with test-management, defect-management and/or test-automation tools and frameworks.
  • Experience working in Agile and/or DevOps delivery environments is an advantage.

Technical / Language Skills – Certifications, Licenses & Registrations

  • Good understanding of software QA principles, testing methodologies and quality-management practices.
  • Good knowledge of test-management, defect-management and test-automation tools and frameworks.
  • Understanding of software development, release-management and CI/CD principles.
  • Ability to translate quality requirements into practical testing standards, processes and guidance.
  • Fluent English, written and spoken.
