The opportunity

Hitachi Energy IT Finance Domain is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager & Scrum Master to lead finance-related global initiatives, with a particular focus on the Local Analytics Portfolio. In this pivotal role, you will combine strategic project leadership with hands-on Agile delivery, driving complex Finance IT programs from initiation through successful implementation and operational transition.

You will work closely with Product Owners, business stakeholders, global delivery teams, and external partners to ensure the successful delivery of finance solutions in a SOX-controlled environment. This role requires a highly collaborative professional with strong finance domain expertise, proven project management capabilities, and practical Scrum Master experience to enable high-performing teams and drive business value through incremental delivery.

How you'll make an impact

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of Finance IT projects while serving as a hands-on Scrum Master for the Local Analytics portfolio.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives to support continuous improvement and delivery excellence.
  • Drive alignment between Product Owners, business stakeholders, and suppliers regarding priorities, implementation plans, dependencies, and release expectations.
  • Manage projects throughout their lifecycle, from initiation and planning through deployment, hypercare, and project closure.
  • Establish and maintain robust project governance frameworks, including supplier management, contractual compliance, timelines, milestones, deliverables, acceptance criteria, and escalation procedures.
  • Ensure all project activities comply with the Hitachi Energy Project Management Framework, governance standards, audit requirements, and internal control processes.
  • Partner closely with Business Project Managers and Product Owners to manage scope, timelines, costs, quality, risks, and backlog priorities.
  • Coordinate and oversee IT project activities, ensuring delivery against agreed objectives, schedules, and business outcomes.
  • Manage project operations including resource planning, budgeting, reporting, forecasting, and stakeholder communication.
  • Provide regular project updates and status reporting to Steering Committees, Project Sponsors, and senior leadership teams.
  • Foster strong collaboration between business and IT teams, promoting shared accountability and effective decision-making.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks, dependencies, and delivery challenges before they impact project success.
  • Coordinate operational readiness activities, transition-to-support processes, and hypercare support for incremental releases.
  • Drive vendor performance, ensuring third-party providers meet contractual obligations, quality expectations, and delivery commitments.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by implementing best practices in project management, Agile methodologies, and delivery governance.

Your background

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience managing global IT projects within complex multinational organizations.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on Scrum Master experience, including facilitation of Scrum events, backlog refinement, impediment resolution, and Agile team coaching.
  • Proven experience delivering Finance IT projects with strong knowledge of financial systems, finance processes, and enterprise applications.
  • Experience working within SOX-controlled environments, including knowledge of internal controls, IT General Controls (ITGCs), audit requirements, change management, and governance processes.
  • Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and traditional project management methodologies, with demonstrated ability to operate in hybrid delivery environments.
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into actionable project plans, roadmaps, and delivery strategies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across business and technology functions.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing global third-party vendors and strategic supplier relationships.
  • Experience managing project budgets, resources, risks, dependencies, and delivery performance metrics.
  • Professional certification in Project Management, Agile, Scrum, ITIL, or related disciplines is preferred (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, CSM, PSM, SAFe, ITIL).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Recognized leadership capabilities with a track record of building collaborative, high-performing teams in global and multicultural environments.
  • Ability to effectively bridge business and technical perspectives and drive successful outcomes across diverse stakeholder groups.
