Location: Leeds Valley Park - Hybrid Working (2-3 days in the office a week)

Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

We have an exciting opportunity for a IT Project Manager to join the Tech team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

You’ll lead medium-scale IT projects from definition through delivery, bringing together business teams, technical specialists and delivery partners to manage scope, plans, budgets, risks, quality and change. With a clear focus on benefits and customer outcomes, you’ll create the structure, pace and stakeholder confidence needed to deliver sustainable change across our technology portfolio.

Where you fit in:

As our IT Project Manager you will:

  • Lead medium-scale IT projects end to end, ensuring agreed outcomes are delivered to scope, time, cost and quality.
  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, plans, controls and governance with sponsors and business owners.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, expenditure and financial reporting, supporting informed investment decisions.
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies and change, escalating where required to protect delivery.
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate delivery across business colleagues, technical specialists, suppliers and partners.
  • Maintain accurate project plans, reports and documentation, providing clear visibility of progress, decisions and delivery confidence.
  • Build effective relationships with sponsors and stakeholders, set clear expectations and support timely decision-making.
  • Embed quality management, assurance and formal acceptance of project deliverables.
  • Define, track and support the realisation of agreed benefits, ensuring delivery remains aligned to the business case.
  • Plan and coordinate resources effectively, resolving competing priorities and delivery constraints.
  • Work with the wider project management community to apply consistent delivery standards, share learning and improve ways of working.

What skills & qualifications you will need:

  • Proven experience delivering medium-scale IT or technology-enabled projects from initiation through to implementation and handover.
  • A strong project governance, planning and control experience, including management of scope, schedule, change and quality.
  • Practical experience of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking and expenditure control.
  • Experience identifying and managing risks, issues and dependencies in a complex delivery environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with confidence working with senior stakeholders.
  • The ability to translate complex delivery information into clear reports, recommendations and decisions.
  • Experience defining, tracking and supporting benefits realisation against an agreed business case.
  • A recognised project management qualification such as PRINCE2, APM, PMP or Agile certification.
  • Experience in delivering security or cyber security projects.
  • Experience within utilities, infrastructure or another regulated environment would be advantageous.
  • Hold a Full UK driving licence.
