Job Description

We are seeking a Project Manager to help drive the technology initiatives that shape how Dierbergs operates, serves customers, and supports our team. In the role, you will turn strategy into action by building momentum, creating clarity, and keeping cross-functional teams aligned on the work that matters most.

The ideal candidate develops a real working understanding of the projects they run — the business problem, the technical solution, and the systems and vendors involved. You bring a big-picture mindset, connect project outcomes to business priorities, and proactively identify risks, dependencies, and decisions before they slow progress or impact delivery. You will manage projects of varying size and complexity with practical structure, clear ownership, and consistent follow-through, while communicating status, issues, and recommendations to IT leaders, business stakeholders, vendors, and executive audiences. This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys understanding a project end-to-end, bringing people together, turning complex ideas into clear plans, and helping technology move faster.

What You’ll Do

Project Leadership & Delivery

·Lead projects that deliver business value. Lead technology initiatives that connect business priorities, IT roadmaps, and organizational goals, ensuring teams understand what needs to be delivered and why it matters.

·Own planning and project execution. Develop and manage project plans for initiatives of varying size, complexity, and delivery approach.

·Build end-to-end project fluency. Develop a working understanding of project’s business need, technical approach, systems, and vendors well enough to ask the right questions, spot risks early, and bring in the right expertise.

Team Alignment & Delivery Accountability

·Cultivate alignment and drive accountability. Create momentum, remove ambiguity, and drive accountability so cross-functional teams stay focused on the milestones, decisions, and outcomes that matter most.

·Orchestrate the project rhythmKeep Product Owners, developers, consultants, and business teams aligned on decisions and next steps so work continues to move forward.

·Guide solution planning and vendor engagement. Partner with Product Owners and stakeholders to translate business needs into clear project direction by supporting solution evaluations, RFP activity, vendor demos, backlog prioritization, deployment planning, and transition to support.

Execution Excellence

·Facilitate effective delivery. Manage project execution from kickoff through deployment using right-sized Agile or Kanban practices that fit team capacity, urgency, feedback, and business needs.

·Manage project health and governance. Own project health and risk management through identification and management of risks, actions, issues, dependencies, and decisions throughout the project lifecycle.

·Enable informed decision-making. Translate project status, risks, and recommendations into clear, actionable updates that help IT leadership, stakeholders, and executive business leaders make informed decisions.

Core Competencies

Beyond project management knowledge and delivery skills, we expect every Project Manager on our team to demonstrate the following:

·Business Acumen & Strategic Thinking: Understands how technology initiatives connect to Dierbergs' broader business goals, including customer experience, Associate productivity, operational efficiency, and growth. Builds enough project and business context to understand tradeoffs, connect delivery work to business outcomes, and help teams make informed decisions.

·Communication & Influence: Conveys information clearly and effectively to audiences ranging from project team members to senior leadership. Facilitates productive discussions, keeps stakeholders informed, adapts communication style to the audience, and helps teams reach alignment and decisions.

·Collaboration & Teaming: Builds genuine partnerships across business, IT, and vendor teams. Creates alignment across diverse stakeholders, resolves conflict constructively, shares information openly, and is viewed as a trusted partner who helps teams succeed together.

·Adaptability & Continuous Learning: Adjusts approach based on project needs, business priorities, and organizational realities. Embraces new tools, delivery methods, and ways of working rather than defaulting to established processes when a different approach would better serve the business.

·Customer & Associate Focus: Recognizes the impact technology projects have on both customers and Associates. Supports delivery decisions that improve the user experience, encourage adoption, and help the business realize value from technology investments.

·Driving for Results: Takes ownership of outcomes, not just activities. Creates momentum, drives accountability, follows through on commitments, proactively addresses obstacles, and helps teams consistently deliver on goals and commitments.
