Job Description

The IT Project Manager & Scrum Master is responsible for planning, executing, evaluating, and delivering multiple complex IT projects using both traditional and Agile methodologies. This role guides and coaches cross-functional teams, drives agile practices, and ensures successful project delivery within schedule and budget. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in project management and Agile implementation, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to foster high-performing teams and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Deliver assigned projects by pre-determined schedule and budget.
  • Define requirements and plan project lifecycle deployment.
  • Build and lead project teams effectively.
  • Plan resources, budgets, and schedules for each stage of the project using project management tools (e.g., Planview).
  • Create strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning.
  • Identify and solve project issues efficiently.
  • Maintain technical and project documentation via established methodology.
  • Evaluate project progress continually, ensuring alignment with schedule, budget, and scope.
  • Ensure timely completion of time reporting by project team members.
  • Submit monthly project status reports and present updates to executives for budget approvals.
  • Participate in portfolio and financial planning processes, including capital and expense planning for AOP.
  • Collaborate with IT, Application, Business, Finance, Sourcing, and Legal teams as needed.

Agile Leadership

  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Guide and coach teams on Scrum or Kanban practices, ensuring adherence to Agile principles.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and QA teams to ensure clear understanding of requirements and delivery expectations.
  • Participate in Scrum of Scrums and other scaling ceremonies for coordinated delivery.
  • Help establish standards and best practices for Agile implementation across multiple teams.
  • Collaborate with other Scrum Masters to share learnings and drive consistency.
  • Support organizational change management initiatives related to Agile transformation.
  • Remove impediments and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Track and report on team metrics, sprint progress, and delivery outcomes.

Essential Functions of the Role

  • Communicate effectively via email, phone, and virtual platforms.
  • Collaborate across departments to support organizational goals.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and initiatives.
  • Maintain and analyze data using tools like Excel, SAP, or HRIS systems.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure data accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with company and legal standards.
  • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Lead or support special projects aligned with departmental objectives.
  • Demonstrate initiative in identifying process improvements or automation opportunities.
  • Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Resolve inquiries and issues with professionalism and discretion.
  • Maintain secure handling of sensitive information.
  • Support audits and regulatory reporting as needed.

Education & Work Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 8-12 years of related experience

Education & Work Preferences

  • Experience: Minimum 8 years of progressive IT and Business Project Management experience; 3–5 years as a Scrum Master.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Agile frameworks, Azure DevOps, and project planning tools; experience managing complex projects (e.g., Office Relocation, Infrastructure, Application, SAP, Compliance). Experience with PPM/SPM solutions such as Planview, Microsoft, etc.
  • Other Skills: Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills; strong organizational, presentation, and customer service skills; proven ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment; experience with both internal stakeholders and external consultants.
  • Certifications: PMP Certification or equivalent preferred; Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM) required; Advanced Agile certifications a plus.
  • Hands-on experience managing and leading Agile teams using Agile/Kanban methodology.
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools, such as GIT, Jenkins, JIRA, Azure DevOps
  • Experience working with various types of business partners, customers and IT Associates, Functional leads and managers delivering feature increments maximizing the benefits of Agile.
  • Have experience managing local and remote teams responsible for incremental software delivery in a variety of programming languages and environments.
  • Proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and general software management, best practices.
  • Strong project management, time management and supervising skills
  • Experience forming, leading, and maturing Agile teams.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring Associates.
  • Experience facilitating advanced Agile ceremonies for multiple teams, including program-level ceremonies for large teams.
  • Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required.
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex business and/or technical documents.
  • Ability to work with Leaders and Business partners and communicate ambiguous concepts.
