Job Description

In this role, you will support two functions within the broader Healthcare Finance Agile Release Train.

First, is serving as Scrum Master/Service Delivery Manager in a Kanban team, delivering capabilities for IM Transactional Data Store (TDS) and Finance Data Mart (FDM) applications. You will coach the team, remove impediments, drive continuous improvement, and ensure delivery excellence across compliance sensitive initiatives (e.g., SOX) and integrations supporting enterprise accounting and financial systems. You will collaborate closely with Product Owners, Engineering team, QA, Security, and Program Leadership across US–India time zones to achieve predictable, high-quality outcomes. You will be responsible for User Story management, Kanban board management, updates to JIRA, working within a larger Agile Release Train, and leveraging the latest technologies and development techniques. The position will require strong ability to support JIRA technology using Kanban delivery practices.

Secondly, you will be responsible for supporting established Intake Governance Processes. This role blends project management, cross functional coordination, and reporting to support large scale Finance Technology and Enterprise initiatives.

This is a hands-on position with visibility to the highest levels of Evernorth management who are motivated to see the successful results of our efforts.

Required Experience & Education:

  • Qualified candidates typically have 5 - 8 years of experience in Agile delivery roles (e.g., Scrum Master, Service Delivery Manager) guiding one or more software teams to consistent, incremental delivery.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Scrum certification (e.g., CSM or PSM) is highly preferred; SAFe certification is a plus

  • Experience working on Scaled Agile Framework is preferred

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Desired Experience: 

  • Experience working in Jira/Rally, Pathfinder, Microsoft products, SharePoint, Confluence

  • Experience as Scrum/Kanban coach

  • Experience working as Project Intake Manager

  • Experience as people manager

Responsibilities

The Scrum Master/Service Delivery Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·Facilitate endtoend Agile ceremonies (daily standups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, review, retros)

·Coach teams and stakeholders on Kanban/Scrum/Lean principles to foster autonomy, accountability, and continuous improvement

·Remove impediments quickly, escalate risks, manage dependencies, and coordinate with adjacent teams, and program leadership to keep delivery on track

·Uphold governance and compliance expectations across the delivery lifecycle (e.g. SOX controls, operational checkpoints), partnering with security and audit where required

·Drive program cadence (e.g., PI Planning participation/coordination, release readiness, crossteam alignment) to support reliable quarterly and sprint outcomes.

·Champion datadriven delivery by maintaining accurate team metrics (Cycle time, Lead time, Throughput) and using them to guide forecasting and improvements.

·Strengthen stakeholder communication with clear, timely updates on scope, risks, decisions, and impacts; facilitate alignment between Service Request Manager/Product Owner, Development, QA.

·Maintain tooling hygiene (e.g., Jira backlogs, boards, and Confluence) ensuring transparency, traceability, and auditability.

·Promote quality-first practices (definition of ready/done, test automation awareness, QA) and help teams adopt effective working agreements

The Intake Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·Organize, host, document minutes from Solution calls and Intake meetings

·Collaborate with Team Leads to create, update, and monitor the estimates.

·Tracking estimates that are submitted to the projects

·Communicating with Program and application teams at every stage of Intake process

·Manage and maintain required documentation on SharePoint and Confluence pages.

·Provide visibility into project financials and compare those to established project budgets.

·Identify variances in project budgets vs forecast vs actuals

·Assist in preparation of reporting as needed by Senior Leadership

Qualifications

Required Skills:

Scrum Master/Service Delivery Manager role:

Knowledge of core Kanban and Scrum methodology

Proficiency in analysing key flow metrics like lead time, cycle time, throughput

Ability to work with team to identify root case of blockers/issues and remove impediments

Experience leading core Kanban/Scrum cadences/ceremonies

The capability to guide cross-functional teams and stakeholders through the adoption of the Kanban methodology

Experience configuring and managing visual management tools (JIRA experience preferred)

Strong negotiation and communication skills to balance business expectations with team capabilities and objectives

Strong interpersonal/relationship management skills

Intake Manager role:

Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills -- Required to host meetings involving cross-functional teams and senior leadership, publish minutes, follow-up on action items, consolidate and submit estimates, track estimate approvals, rework with the group in case of scope/budget deviations

Strong ability to review deliverables for completeness and quality
