The IT Asset Management (ITAM) function supports PG&E’s business vision by improving service quality, expanding capabilities through new functionality and technologies, optimizing costs, and enhancing the end-user experience. The team partners closely with internal stakeholders to promote best practices, strengthen governance, and reduce financial and compliance risk associated with IT assets.
We are seeking an IT Product Specialist located in Oakland, CA or within PG&E’s service territory. This role is hybrid, with onsite presence at the Oakland General Office (OGO) as needed. The position reports to the Software Asset Management Supervisor
The IT Product Specialist supports the lifecycle management of assigned IT products and services, with a focus on IT Store/App Portal catalog operations, Software Asset Management (SAM), and operational support.
Working in a team environment, this role partners with the IT Asset Management team and functional area coworkers to improve visibility and understanding of software assets. The specialist applies ITAM best practices to help control software spend and reduce financial and compliance risk, with accountability for data accuracy, integrity, and audit readiness of asset and product information.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders to onboard and retire products within the IT Store, maintaining accurate catalog and asset data, and applying defined requirements to configure systems and catalog updates. The role contributes input to product improvements and roadmap planning, while primarily focusing on execution and operational excellence.
The IT Product Specialist ensures stakeholders are informed of product updates, new functionality, deployment status, restrictions, and licensing considerations. The role also supports procurement and renewal activities, validates Flexera (FNMS) data and reporting, and provides escalation support and product guidance to internal teams.
PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position. The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity,specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The range to reasonably expect will be around the minimum and the midpoint $102,000 - $132,000. The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

Bay Area Max: $ 162,000
This position is hybrid, working from our Oakland Headquarters based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.
