The IT Procurement Buyer is responsible for executing the end-to-end purchasing process to ensure newly acquired self-storage properties, existing assets, and headcount-related needs are fully equipped with the required technology and equipment for successful operations. This includes supporting new property acquisitions, ongoing operational needs at existing locations, and employee-related purchases such as hardware and equipment.

This role focuses on transactional procurement activities, vendor coordination, and order management to support efficient, timely, and cost-effective purchasing across acquisitions and ongoing business operations.

The Buyer works closely with IT, Finance, and Operations teams to process purchase requests, manage orders, and ensure accurate and compliant procurement activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Create and manage POs in the ERP; ensure accuracy of pricing, coding, and vendor data; manage PO lifecycle including goods receipt, delivery confirmation, and closure.
• Coordinate procurement for new property acquisitions and existing sites (e.g., cameras, hardware, gate systems) and employee equipment ensure operational readiness.
• Assist with creation and maintenance of site locations and material/item IDs in the ERP system to enable accurate and timely purchasing activities.
• Work with approved vendors on orders, lead times, delivery schedules, onboarding support, and issue resolution.
• Track equipment from order to deployment; coordinate delivery and staging; resolve inventory discrepancies and quality issues.
• Support three-way match; resolve issues related to orders, shipments, invoices, and discrepancies; partner with AP for timely payment.
• Follow procurement policies and support updates to SOPs to improve consistency and efficiency.
• Prepare reports on procurement activity, vendor performance, and inventory; support cost analysis, benchmarking, and demand forecasting for upcoming needs.
• Partner with IT, Finance, and Operations to support acquisitions, ongoing operations, and system/vendor onboarding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or business and/or certifications in supply chain
• 3-6+ years of experience in IT procurement, asset management or related field.
• Demonstrated experience managing hardware assets across a distributed, multi-site environment.
• Experience working within an ERP system (SAP By Design)
• Prior acquisition experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume workflow independently with strong attention to detail.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and process improvement skills.
• Effective cross-functional communication and problem-solving abilities.
