The IT Operator is responsible for executing, monitoring, and continuously improving day-to-day IT operational activities across on-premise and cloud environments. The role focuses on automation-driven operations and cloud platform support to ensure stable, secure, and efficient IT services in accordance with FWD Group standards, SLAs, and control requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Automated Batch Operations & Job Scheduling
Monitor, schedule, and execute application and system batch jobs in cloud and hybrid environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).
Support and maintain automation scripts or workflows to reduce manual intervention and improve execution reliability.
Investigate, resolve, and escalate failed jobs in accordance with operational procedures.
2. Cloud & Infrastructure Monitoring
Perform real‑time monitoring of cloud infrastructure, servers, applications, and platforms to ensure availability, performance, and capacity thresholds are met.
Support proactive identification of operational risks through alerts, dashboards, and trend analysis.
3. Automation Support & Continuous Improvement
Execute and support operational automation (e.g., job automation, monitoring automation, scripted checks).
Identify repetitive manual tasks and propose automation opportunities in collaboration with engineering and platform teams.
4. Backup, Recovery & Cloud Readiness
Execute and monitor backup and restore operations across cloud environments.
Participate as needed in disaster recovery drills and capacity planning activities.
5. Incident Support & Escalation
Provide Level 1–2 operational support for infrastructure, cloud, and application incidents.
Perform initial diagnostics, remediation actions, and timely escalation to engineering teams as required.
6. Documentation, Reporting & Compliance
Maintain operational runbooks, automation documentation, logs, and incident reports
Responsible for regular release of batch reports such as CTR, AMLA, Production Report, etc.
Ensure data integrity and security during job execution and file transfers.
Education & Certification:
Graduate of any 4-year Course preferably B.S Computer Science, B.S. in Information Technology or related field with computer applications
Any relevant certification is an advantage: (such as but not limited to)
ITIL
Cloud Certifications (AWS/Azure Developer, AWS/Azure practitioner…etc.)
Experience:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in Data Center, IT Operations, or related technical support roles.
Hands‑on exposure to cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure) and operational automation.
Willingness to work rotational / shifting schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Knowledgeable in Insurance business applications and processes is an advantage.
Technical Competencies/Skills:
Knowledge of AS400, Windows Server, Linux, and related system operations.
Knowledge in Batch processing and job scheduling tools
Knowledge in COBOL or other programming language is an advantage.
Basic understanding of cloud monitoring and operational concepts.
Batch scripting of routine processes or automation exposure.
Incident and problem management processes
