Our direct Client based in NYC (midtown) is seeking a full-time IT Operations Engineer. This is an urgent Client need with immediate interviews for qualified candidates.

Salary range: $105,000 - $125,000 per year

Type: Hybrid - will require 2pm to 10pm weekly team rotation every 5th week.

Work Loc: NYC (On-site, midtown)

Candidate will be an experienced Operations Engineer and will join Client's growing IT Operations team. Responsibilities for daily administration of the server/network infrastructure and related systems, using cloud provisioning tools and automating tasks using a scheduler. Candidate will be highly detail-oriented and comfortable working independently as well as within a team. New hire will be learning about and working extensively with Linux, scripting, and AWS.

This position will need to support standard office hours and a rotational 2pm - 10pm EST shift for one week every 5 weeks or so. There is also on-call pager duty associated with the respective shifts.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor systems and applications including Linux, Windows, and AWS services
• Deploy applications across a multitude of servers and operating systems hosted on AWS
• Use Bash and Python scripting to automate processes
• Build/monitor/troubleshoot/fix Prod/Test/Dev environments to ensure smooth and efficient operations
• Work with CI/CD tools, tasks schedulers, and Amazon Web Services

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required
• 3 - 5 years of Linux experience
• 3 - 5 years of Linux scripting experience
• Experience with IT infrastructure, subnetting, routing, firewall policies, and best practices
• Ability to writing SQL queries in order to troubleshoot data issues
• Familiarity with windows administration
• Comfortable working independently in a high-pressure environment
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, vendors, and customers
• Any certifications are a plus
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Desired:

• AWS or other Cloud services experience/certification
• Experience with TeamCity or Terraform
• Troubleshoot file transfer using ftp, ftps, sftp, ssh, http/https
