This position is responsible for the design, fabrication, and installation of a wide range of signage for the Medical, Educational, Research, and Administrative facilities on the UAMS Campus and offsite locations. The Sign Shop Technician is responsible for coordinating with end users, building managers and project managers to determine sign and graphics needs and ensure that they meet UAMS guidelines for identification, directional, informational, and regulatory purposes. Utilizing specialized software this position will design, build, and install in-house produced signage as well as specialized signage provided by outside vendors. Interpret various technical details related to sign design and manufacture (LED layouts, Aluminum Frame Construction, Basic Wiring, Attachment Methods, Sheet goods cutting and forming, etc). Self-starter who can work independently and is organized. Responds to situations where sign systems have failed and action must be taken to repair or replace in a timely mannor to ensure patients and visitors have appropriate wayfinding ability.
