If Driving and verifying Motor Vehicle Report is in compliance with insurance carrier requirements (Clean driving record with no DUI, reckless driving, major accidents, cell phone tickets or felony driving within the last 7 years). **

Reporting to the Transportation Manager, the IT Move Technician IV’s primary role is to lead small, medium, and large jobs where technicians physically and professionally disconnect and reconnect workstation PCs, peripherals, server components and related hardware, and/or provide daily help-desk solutions at ROI accounts or projects as assigned. May lead CoroTrac projects, perform pre-job preparation functions and/or post-project services for the customer. In addition, this position will replace new devices, hard drive & memory card upgrades, and battery replacements.

The IT Move Technician IV is usually assigned to work at different customer account locations to provide technical support for commercial moving projects, or may be assigned to serve in a help-desk function for IT services at an ROI account. This position provides daily IT trouble shooting for any complicated technical matters relating to computer assets or inventories. This position will also serve to lead small, medium and large sized technical projects including providing technical expertise regarding all of Corovan’s Corotech and CoroTrac services. May also serve in a trainer for Tech III, II and I level technicians.

Assists the move process by communicating with supervisors, the end users/customer and other crew members. Uses extreme care not to damage goods or facilities during the move.

Occasionally, this position will assist with moving duties to physically lift, carry and/or push furniture, equipment, and cartons on wheels to and from trucks, offices and warehouses as requested by the customer or as assigned by project or account manager that day. May assist in loading and offloading trucks from docks and/or on a lift-gate and setting & offsetting goods on equipment. Responsible to produce a quality move for the customer. Assists the move process by communicating with supervisors, the end users/customer and other crew members. Uses extreme care not to damage goods or facilities during the move.

This position ensures the customer’s requests relating to IT Move Technical support are carried out efficiently and in a timely manner. This position acts as a focal point of contacts for any IT issues that need to be escalated to Operations Manager or customers. This position also provides training, coaching and mentorship to new-hires or junior Technician Level’s I, II and III.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical Duties:

· Disconnects and reconnects PCs and other peripheral electronic desktop components per supervisor’s direction and the specific job requirements.

  • Records basic system information on PC Disconnect/Reconnect Checklist such as serial numbers, manufacturer, model numbers and placement.

· Ability to properly install basic customer requested software, application, and system.

· Ability to assist in the support of the customer’s server room or lab room if assigned. Ability to correctly label, disconnect and reconnect components of a server rack. Ability to correctly pack, relocate and accurately reconnect all components of server racks as assigned.

  • Ability to replace new devices and to ensure contents are copied from a user’s old device to new device.
  • Ability to upgrade hard drives and memory cards and conduct battery replacements.
  • Capture the existing workstation layout at the customer site and ensure the new setup is placed the same.
  • Labeling all the IT assets/inventories to ensure there is no missing items during the moving.
  • Ability to manage different cables and wires to ensure a nice, neat, and safe workstation.
  • Ability to perform network connectivity testing.
  • Required to provide advanced workstation trouble shooting skills.
  • Knowledge of network cable tracing and connect and reconnect IT inventories.
  • Ability to effectively utilize CoroTrac software on portable electronic devices, take photographs, place labels, relocate and place items correctly at destination.
  • Ability to upload cut sheets into the CoroTrac software, print and distribute labels to end users.
  • Ability to adapt to customer changes as it relates to origin or destination labeling and effectively adjust label printing of CoroTrac as necessary.
  • Ability to strongly perform the Move Technician I, II & III level key responsibilities.

Move duties:

· Possess the ability and willingness to assist the moving crews if needed.

· Required to set, offset, push, pull, lift, carry and move computer equipment, furniture, miscellaneous equipment, and boxes as required.

· May be asked to lead small to medium sized move projects as assigned by dispatch.

Customer Relations:

· Interact with customers to report any technical issues and matters in a professional manner.

· Maintain excellent customer service with the customers, transportation, and operation teams to establish solid relationships.

· Must be punctual at all times. If an emergency arises, inform the supervisor and operations manager immediately, so that appropriate coverage can be arranged.

· Must work cooperatively with all members of the crew.

· Must be courteous, helpful, and professional to all existing and potential customers.

· Quickly respond to any of technical requests from customers.

· Must be respectful of rules at each customer site as to where to work and adhere to meal and rest period locations.

· Must follow all confidentiality rules regarding any products or services that are visible at a customer’s site.

· Must follow all security rules for the company and assigned customers.

· Ensure a professional manner and appearance in provided Corotech or Corovan uniform.

Lead People Management:

· Assist with providing coaching and guidance to the IT Move Tech team.

· Provide performance feedback to department manager for each team member including any necessary coaching and counseling needed.

· Ensure employees adhere to meal and rest periods.

· Provide leadership to the team and set a culture of engaging and respecting employees.

Employee Engagement:

· Ensure interactions with staff and customers are professional at all times to promote company’s values and expectations.

· Engage team to promote a positive work environment to retain high-performing employees.

· Aligning the culture of the department with the overall company strategy and structure.

Safety:

· Performs work with quality, efficiency, and safety at all times.

· Must abide by all safety rules; to include proper safety gear and PPE (back braces, hard-hats, safety shoes, etc. if required by the customer), drive forklifts safely (seatbelt, slow speeds, ensuring trucks are chalked and using proper plates, etc.) and ensure all crew members do the same.

· Report any unsafe dangerous requests from customers to senior management.

Training:

· Assist with training and coaching for new hires of IT Move Tech’s I, II and III’s, in compliance with company policy, to include on-the-job training.

· May be asked to present/train “Owner Update (listening meetings) at assigned accounts.

· Promote Corovan’s Mission and Vision Statements.

· Continuously promotes compliance with company policies and procedures.

Other duties

· Ensure timesheets and other documentation is completed accurately and turned in by the time requirement.

· If also a qualified installer, installs systems walls and splines, handles and stages product, performs detail work and trash-out functions on install projects.

· If also a qualified and approved driver, drives trucks up to and including Class A vehicles and or operates forklifts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  6. OTHER DUTIES:

a. Ability to do electronics troubleshooting, analyzing information, good judgment in making decisions.

b. Must be familiar with the O&I (Office & Industrial) move process and understand the move labeling and directional signage.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  1. High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
  2. Associate’s degree or technical trade school, or one to two (1-2) year’s related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  3. Three – six (3-6) years working in tech support position.
  4. Experience in handling computer equipment and other fragile devices with exceptional attention to detail.
  5. Strong knowledge about computer hardware, software, cabling, servers, systems and applications.
  6. Good understanding of server equipment; is knowledgeable of server racking and unracking.
  7. Exceptional client/customer service skills, equipment maintenance, ability to report work related issues to management, must maintain confidentiality, quality focus, results driven and supply management.
  8. If also a driver, a valid California driver’s license is required.
  9. Valid driving record that meets the company’s insurance carrier’s requirements.

Preferred:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology.
  2. Two (2) plus years’ of supervisor or lead role in IT projects.
  3. Strong knowledge about computer hardware, software, cabling, servers, systems and applications.
  4. One (1) year of warehouse/moving or technician experience, using various moving equipment and its proper usage such as dollies, carts, pads, straps, pallet jacks, forklifts, ramps, lift gates, and all specialty equipment including but not limited to roll-a-lifts, Genie lifts safe jacks, and J bars.

  12. May be required to do stair carries. (Carrying goods and furniture up and/or downstairs).

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing, assembly, and construction areas and under certain conditions require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, safety glasses with side shields and/or hearing protection. Temp/Weather: Works in either 1) Office environment - for the most part ambient room temperatures, lighting, and traditional office equipment, and 2) Warehouse – may be exposed to cold temperature, and 3) Outside - may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions and extreme cold.
  2. Noise: Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment, server, or lab room, but may involve exposure to moderate noise levels from computer and other peripherals.
  3. Work involves operation of IT equipment and computers for two to six hours daily.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

  1. Variable hours, non-exempt, part-time position.
  2. Employees might be required to work late evenings or weekends depending on the business needs.
  3. All Overtime must be approved by manager before working.

TRAVEL:

100% travel to various job sites and customer locations. Must be able to commute daily to the customer site.
