Job Description

We’re looking for a Manager, IT Operations to lead the delivery of IT services and support for our business in Suva, Fiji. You’ll oversee the local IT team and ensure our systems, infrastructure and workplace technology are reliable, secure and responsive to the needs of the business.

Working closely with local stakeholders and our regional and enterprise IT teams, you’ll manage day-to-day support, resolve operational issues and help deliver technology projects and improvements. You’ll also be the main local escalation point when significant IT issues arise.

In this role, you will:

• Lead local IT operations and oversee end-user support, device management, workplace technology, infrastructure, connectivity and access to business systems.
• Ensure incidents and service requests are prioritised, resolved or escalated in line with agreed service levels.
• Monitor system performance and availability, taking proactive steps to minimise disruption to business operations.
• Maintain effective processes for incident, request, problem, change, asset and knowledge management.
• Work with regional and enterprise IT teams to implement technology standards, security controls and initiatives in the local environment.
• Manage third-party technology vendors, including service performance, issue resolution and renewals.
• Support local technology projects, system upgrades, office changes and new business initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve service quality, operational efficiency, user experience and IT costs.
• Manage local IT risks relating to security, resilience, compliance, capacity and business continuity.
• Build strong relationships with business leaders and users, understanding their needs and communicating IT priorities clearly.
• Lead and develop the local IT support team through coaching, workload planning and performance management.
• Contribute to IT budgeting, purchasing, forecasting and cost control.

Qualifications

You’ll bring strong technical operations experience, sound judgement and a practical approach to leading IT services in a busy business environment.

You will have:

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent progressive management experience.
• At least 10 years’ experience in IT, including strong experience in technical operations, and at least five years’ management experience.
• Strong knowledge of IT operations, service delivery, end-user support, infrastructure, networking and workplace technologies.
• Practical experience with IT service management, including incident, request, problem, change and asset management.
• The ability to troubleshoot complex issues, set priorities and coordinate teams and vendors through to resolution.
• Experience managing third-party service providers and holding them accountable for service performance.
• Proven people leadership skills, including coaching, performance management and team development.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and a customer-focused approach to supporting business users.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical audiences.
• Commercial awareness and experience with budgets, purchasing, supplier management and cost control.
• The ability to work effectively with regional IT teams while meeting the needs of the local business.
